According to new allegations from a informant, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, now completing a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a commutation application for review by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Claimed at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a source provided evidence indicating Maxwell is preparing the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, declared in a news release that the facility's chief was “helping” Maxwell with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for clemency.

The exact content of the “commutation application” are unclear, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the warden has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for Maxwell and her visitors.

These meetings reportedly involve a designated private space for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and potential for unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, she was given specific instructions about instructing her contacts to contact and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her private aide.

The statement states that those writing to her would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the warden to digitize and send to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Other privileges allegedly granted to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel has not yet replied to a inquiry regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Recently, reports surfaced that Maxwell told friends and family in emails from prison that she was more content at the new prison than her previous prison.

In August, Maxwell was moved from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's private attorney.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the Epstein investigation and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own connections to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the president to deny the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with canine interaction, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche attend a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also posed three questions to the President.

He inquired whether he had talked about a potential commutation for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to arrange her with the move or special conditions in detention, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, relatives or agents have made any commitments to Trump or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a response to the inquiries by 24 November.

In October, the US supreme court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
